Summer work key for wrestlers at ’Cat mat camp

The Southern Hospitality Technique and Competition Camp annually draws scores of wrestlers to Camden County High School, and sessions last week and this week were no different. The first session was June 9-12, and the second began Sunday and concluded Tuesday.

Stingrays prepare for districts

In their last competition before districts, the Camden PSA Stingray swimmers won six events and cut time in many events Monday at an Appling meet. The district meet will be Monday in Coffee and the Georgia Recreation and Park Association Class B state meet July 12-13 in Moultrie.

St. Marys angler snaps 43-year-old state mark

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has announced a new women’s state saltwater fish record for crevalle jack.  Lauren E. Harden of St. Marys broke the previous record by landing a 33-pound, 10.72-ounce crevalle jack May 24 while fishing on Cumberland Island.

Stingray swimmers win 11 events at Appling meet

The PSA Stingray swimmers collected 11 wins between the boys, girls and relay events Monday at an Appling meet. Four of those first-places came in the relays. Bam Devine won two events for the boys, and Tucker Casey, Mack Moody, Koralyne Hardy, Mya Anderson and Emma Anderson all won individually.
