CCHS runner Bograd resets school record

Another race, another school record. Camden County High cross-country runner Marin Bograd lowered the school standard to 19:52 last Friday at the Cecil Field Summer Classic in Jacksonville, Fla. She was the lone Camden entrant in the Elite girls race, where she finished 26th of 251 runners.

CCHS sweeps Ware, shuts out Valdosta on diamond

A doubleheader sweep last Saturday at Ware and a Region 1-6A home win Tuesday over Valdosta put the Camden County softball team at 7-4 for the season. The Lady Wildcats will play a doubleheader at Valdosta Thursday to close the three-game series.

Maintaining focus key for Wildcats as East Lake visits

Camden County softball splits first eight games

The Camden County High softball team split its first eight games, including two wins in four contests last weekend in a Crisp County tournament. CCHS visits Ware on Saturday. The Region 1-6A schedule opens Tuesday at home with Valdosta, and a return doubleheader will be Aug. 29.

Lady ’Cat spikers rally in opener, win three

The Camden County spikers spotted host Brunswick the first two sets before rallying for a 24-26, 20-25, 25-16, 25-20, 15-11 win in the season opener last Thursday. Grace Pratt thumped a team-high 18 kills and Raelyn Williams 13 for the winners.

Bograd sets CCHS cross-country mark

Marin Bograd set a school record for Camden County’s third-place girls, and the boys ran sixth last Saturday at the season-opening Patriot Pride cross-country invitational last Saturday in Wilcox County. “A great start for both teams,” CCHS coach Jason Konrad said.

Improved Bobcats hit field

The St. Marys Middle football program welcomes 85 players to the field and kicks off the regular season next week. “I thought we had a really good spring,” fourth-year head coach Tucker Jenkins said. “We installed a new offense and defense, so we’ve definitely improved over the last few months.
