Sande Ryysylainen hoped to live to be 79 years old. Born in 1921, she turned 79 the second day of the new millennium. It seemed like a good goal, then she over shot it by 21 years to turn 100 this month.

The community will gather on Wednesday, Feb. 3 to remember the men and women who were lost 50 years ago when the Thiokol munitions plant in rural Camden exploded, causing the worst industrial disaster the area has ever seen.
