Man pleads guilty in inmate's death

A Woodbine man has pleaded guilty in federal court to a drug charge in the death of a Camden County inmate last year. Joshua Swing, 36, pleaded guilty to distribution of fentanyl on Tuesday, according to a press release from the U.S. attorney’s office. He faces up to 20 years in prison.

Former teacher arrested for battery

A former Camden County teacher was arrested Monday for allegedly having inappropriate contact with students, according to a press release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.  Steven Rayle, 58, of Waverly faces four counts of felony sexual battery against a child younger than 16 years old.

St Marys ponders operations contract

St. Marys is looking to turn a temporary contract with Clearwater Solutions into a long-term one to manage its water and wastewater treatment facilities. Clearwater says the $693,887 contract could save the city about $150,000 in the first year.

World Class Boxing Club is breaking ties with the local recreation authority after the portable trailer it had used for several years was deemed unsafe.   However, Coach Steve Bell said it was probably a blessing in disguise because it is going to allow them to expand in ways they could not before.

Man arrested for fatal crash

After a months-long investigation, a Kingsland man has been arrested for an accident that killed a woman in July on St. Marys Road. He faces one felony count of homicide by vehicle.
