Senior Care Center deals with outbreak among residents, staff

Southeast Georgia Health System has been dealing with an outbreak of COVID-19 at the Senior Care Center in St. Marys that has affected dozens of residents and staff.    Through early June, there were only four positive COVID-19 cases at the facility and only one requiring hospitalization.

Camden makes final push on census

Camden County officials are pushing for citizens to respond to the 2020 Census before counting ends at the end of this month, particularly in the Woodbine area where county responses are lowest.

Firefighter faces felony for allegedly filming coworker

A St. Marys firefighter was arrested last week for allegedly trying to film a coworker while she was in the bathroom at the fire station. Connor Wade Hodges, 22, of Hilliard, Florida, was arrested Sept. 1 and charged with unlawful eavesdropping or surveillance, which is a felony.

Early voting dates set; ballot box rejected

Camden County voters will not be installing a 24-hour absentee ballot collection box, but the local board of elections is expanding the early voting schedule to include a Saturday and a Sunday.
