Judge grants Perry a new trial in murder case

New DNA evidence in a double murder case from 1985 prompted a Superior Court judge to order a new trial for Dennis Perry, the man convicted of killing Harold and Thelma Swain at Rising Daughter Church. Perry, 58, is serving two life sentences.

Woman killed in St Marys Road crash

A Brunswick woman was killed earlier this month in St. Marys when a speeding vehicle crashed into her car on St. Marys Road. Michelle Alyssa Volpe, 26, and her dog were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Georgia State Patrol report.

JDA approves bond for Jacoby project

The Camden County Joint Development Authority (JDA) board approved a bonding resolution on July 16 that will be used to help fund the multi-million-dollar Cumberland Inlet development on the former paper mill site in St. Marys.
