A Brunswick attorney who has served as chief legal counsel for the cities of St. Marys and Kingsland will have a new role soon. On Wednesday, Jan. 21, Gov. Brian Kemp appointed Steven Blackerby to the Superior Court of the Brunswick Judicial Circuit.

A Camden County native and longtime educator spoke Monday at the Unity in the Community celebration honoring Martin Luther King Jr., and implored listeners in Kingsland to “finish the work” in the cause for equality.

St. Marys Garden Club recently donated $500 to St. Marys Riverkeeper, a local conservation nonprofit dedicated to protecting and restoring the St. Marys River watershed.

The Camden County Joint Development Authority’s available inventory just grew by about 700 acres. On Tuesday, the economic development agency announced it had secured the former Gilman Paper property after a developer – Jacoby Development – “failed to satisfy its contractual obligations.”

Two Camden County men were arrested Thursday, Jan. 8, by law enforcement officials after a three-month narcotics investigation, according to a news release from the Camden County Sheriff’s Office.
