Kingsland man accused in stabbing

The Kingsland Police Department arrested a 27-year-old man Sunday and charged him with aggravated assault and aggravated battery, according to the Camden County Sheriff’s Office jail log and a news release from the arresting agency.

Two economic development projects move forward

At a brief meeting Monday, Kingsland City Council moved forward on two economic development projects. One project was the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Homeowner Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Program.

Camden County Schools Board of Education passes ’23-24 calendar

Camden County Schools’ Board of Education approved the 2023-24 calendar in January, but created flexibility for educators for teacher work days. The 2023-24 school year will begin for students Wednesday, Aug. 2, but teacher pre-planning begins July 27. New teacher orientations are July 18-21.

American Legion names post after former adjutant

Kingsland’s American Legion post was officially renamed the Jimmy McCollum American Legion Post 170, in honor of their former post adjutant, in a packed ceremony Saturday at the Kingsland Lions Club building. James “Jimmy” Roger McCollum was a lifelong resident of Kingsland.
