Kingsland police officer resigns after crash

Michael Allen Leach, a school resource officer with Kingsland Police Department, resigned in-lieu of termination March 29, after he crashed his police car and tested positive for alcohol, according to a news release from the law enforcement agency. He has not been arrested or criminally charged.

St. Marys City Council added its final member to its legislative body, and the council approved a new community development director Monday during its regularly scheduled meeting. Chad Ingram was sworn in by Deputy City Clerk Priscilla Mejia before the meeting began.
