St. Marys council OKs $7.6M bond

St. Marys City Council took a giant step toward constructing a business park at the shuttered St. Marys Airport. On Monday evening, council members voted unanimously to approve a contract with the Development Authority of St. Marys to issue a $7.6 million bond for infrastructure at the St.

‘Southern Friend Funeral’ debuts at St. Marys Little Theatre

St. Marys Little Theatre will feature the comedy play “Southern Fried Funeral” at Theatre by the Trax in St. Marys. Show dates are 7 p.m. May 13-14 and 20-21, and 2 p.m. May 15 and 22.

St. Marys leaders postpone vote on Youth Council

St. Marys City Council voted unanimously to postpone a vote on a potential youth council during its April 18 meeting. The item, suggested by Vice Mayor Lisa James, would establish a four-member youth group that would be composed of four high school juniors and seniors.
A group at Borrel Creek pulled 875 pounds of trash from the St. Marys River. Participants included Tina Goulet, Norm Goulet, Charlie Simmons, Gabriela Simmons, Karen Adams, Kari Dent, Misty Gilliland, Janie Johnson, Pat McLaughlin, Alex Nelsen, Ed Torgersen, Deanne Torgersen, Kendall Martin, Shelby Martin, Karen Martin, Bruce Martin, Judy Tann, Linda Sentell and Ronnie Sentell.

St. Marys cleanup nets more than 8 tons of trash

St. Marys Riverkeeper More than 300 volunteers gathered along the banks of the St. Marys River on Saturday and pulled more than 8 tons of litter, tires, debris and junk from the water, shores and surrounding areas.

Once Jon Preble saw the building on Osborne Street in St. Marys, he knew it was perfect. The owner of Brackish Beer Company runs his operation from a 1,200-square-foot space at 907 Dilworth St. in St. Marys. Renovations are underway for the craft brewery to move to 117 Osborne St.
