The Wildcat cross-country boys put four in the top 20 individually while placing second as a team, and Marin Bograd was first overall for the girls in their fifth-place showing last Thursday at Wayne County.

Marin Bograd and Cayden Driggers posted the best times for the Camden County girls and boys cross-country teams last Saturday at the Jekyll Island Invitational. Individually, Bograd was fifth overall out of 108 runners at 20:39.

The Camden County boys and girls cross-country teams both placed third, and Marin Bograd placed second individually last Thursday at Ware.  Bograd ran a 22:14 for the girls, who posted a 101 score in the nine-team field.

After coming up empty in two matches Aug. 23 at Savannah Christian, the Lady Wildcat volleyballers collected their sixth victory in a split last Thursday at Ware. CCHS handed the host Lady Gators a two-set loss, and fell in a tight three-setter to Brunswick the same day.

’Cats surge in second half, win opener

Like last season, Camden County trailed visiting Columbia at halftime last Friday.  This time, the second-half script in the opener played out much better.   Trailing 6-0 at the break, Wildcat head coach Jeff Herron knew “we were down just one play.”
