Wrestlers gain All-American recognition

Five Camden County wrestlers brought home All-American honors from the National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) High School Nationals last Friday through Sunday in Virginia Beach, Va. The top eight finishers in each weight class earned All-American praise.

Gymcats pursue state bid, post 107 mark at Lowndes

In their quest to qualify for state as a team for the first time, the Camden County High varsity Gymcats delivered a first-place 107.0 last Saturday at Lowndes. State qualifiers Jennifer Tate and Katie Tate won events, and state qualifier Lillie Barnes placed second in another on senior night.

Camden netters split matches

Rebounding from two narrow defeats the previous day at Valdosta, the Camden County High boys and girls netters swept away Bishop Kenny last Thursday at the Kingsland courts. The girls improved to 10-3 with their fifth win in six matches, and the boys to 7-6 with their fourth victory in six outings.

Lady soccer Wildcats topple Bradwell, Colquitt, Wayne

Three wins over the last three weeks boosted the Camden County Lady soccer ’Cats to six victories heading into this week’s matches. CCHS, which stood 6-6-1 ahead of a scheduled March 21 visit from Wayne, split two region matches with Colquitt, including a road triumph last week.

Varsity sixth, JV first for Gymcats

The Camden County High varsity gymnasts scored a sixth-place 105.0 total and the junior varsity a winning 94.45 last Saturday at a Buford meet. Lillie Barnes has qualified for state on the bars and balance beam, Jennifer Tate for the all-around, and Katie Tate on the vault for CCHS.
