Gymcats aim to keep momentum

After reaching state as a team for the first time, the goal for the Camden County Gymcats becomes sustaining the momentum of a milestone achievement. Battling injury and illness, the Gymcats closed their season at the Class 6A-7A preliminary competition last week in Buford.

Netters ace first state tests

The first serves were struck around 2 p.m. Tuesday as the Camden County High boys and girls tennis teams met visiting Westlake in opening-round state Class 7A matches. By 3:10 p.m., both Wildcat teams had advanced to the final 16.

Diamond ’Cats top Madison for seventh win, fall at Fernandina

A split last week with two Florida opponents included the Camden County baseball Wildcats’ seventh victory of the season. As of Tuesday, the Diamond ’Cats (7-15 overall) were working to reschedule a game with McIntosh County Academy, which was originally set for April 18 in Kingsland.

CCHS ousted from girls, boys state 7A soccer tournaments

Far away from home, Camden County High boys and girls soccer teams tumbled last week in their state Class 7A playoff openers. With four teams qualifying from each region, both CCHS teams were seeded third from Region 1, and both took on the runners-up from Region 2.

’Cats first, second at region tennis tourney

Camden County High tennis celebrated one Region 1-7A championship Tuesday and came tantalizingly close to another at the windy Kingsland courts.

Gymcats triumph at Westminster

Jennifer Tate won the all-around and Katie Tate and Kira Grady notched state qualifying scores April 5, part of the Camden County Gymcats’ first-place 103.05 team mark at Westminster in Atlanta. Comprising Tate’s 35.85 all-around score were wins on the balance beam (9.2), bars (9.
