Gymcats win, record state qualifying scores

The Camden County Gymcats recorded a first-place 108.9 last Saturday at a Cartersville meet, and several gymnasts posted state-qualifying scores, too.  Jennifer Tate garnered her third qualifying scores for all-around (36.6), floor exercise (9.5), bars (9.0) and balance beam (8.6).

Diamond ’Cats beat Grayson, lose three

A two-game weekend series with visiting Grayson last weekend ended in a split for the baseball Wildcats, whose Saturday win halted a three-game losing streak. A marathon home loss to Savannah Christian Tuesday and a Feb. 28 defeat at Wayne County left Camden 5-5 overall.

Girls golfers compete at Jekyll tourney

The Camden County High girls golfers sent two two-player teams to the Red Terror Cup last Saturday on Jekyll Island.  The tournament at the Indian Mounds course welcomed 70 pairs from 28 schools around the state.

Gymcats place fourth at South Forsyth meet

Competing against three state champion teams, the Camden County High Gymcats posted a fourth-place 103.454 last Saturday at a South Forsyth meet. Jennifer Tate scored a 34.6 in the all-around, with marks of 9.3 on the vault, 8.7 on the balance beam, 8.5 on the floor exercise, and 8.1 for the bars.
