Boys first, girls third for CCHS at Ware track and field meet

Rickey Williams and Marco Henson won two events apiece for the first-place Camden County High boys, and Marin Bograd two for the third-place girls last Saturday at the Swamp Relays track and field meet in Waycross.

Gymcats win, record state qualifying scores

The Camden County Gymcats recorded a first-place 108.9 last Saturday at a Cartersville meet, and several gymnasts posted state-qualifying scores, too.  Jennifer Tate garnered her third qualifying scores for all-around (36.6), floor exercise (9.5), bars (9.0) and balance beam (8.6).

Diamond ’Cats beat Grayson, lose three

A two-game weekend series with visiting Grayson last weekend ended in a split for the baseball Wildcats, whose Saturday win halted a three-game losing streak. A marathon home loss to Savannah Christian Tuesday and a Feb. 28 defeat at Wayne County left Camden 5-5 overall.

CCHS netters sweep Savannah Christian, fall to Ponte Vedra

The Camden County High tennis teams rebounded from home losses to Ponte Vedra last Thursday by bouncing Savannah Christian Tuesday on Senior Day. The girls stood 6-2 after the two matches, and the boys 4-4.

Girls golfers compete at Jekyll tourney

The Camden County High girls golfers sent two two-player teams to the Red Terror Cup last Saturday on Jekyll Island.  The tournament at the Indian Mounds course welcomed 70 pairs from 28 schools around the state.

Gymcats place fourth at South Forsyth meet

Competing against three state champion teams, the Camden County High Gymcats posted a fourth-place 103.454 last Saturday at a South Forsyth meet. Jennifer Tate scored a 34.6 in the all-around, with marks of 9.3 on the vault, 8.7 on the balance beam, 8.5 on the floor exercise, and 8.1 for the bars.

Wildcat boys finish ninth at Johnny Paulk Invitational

The Camden County High boys golf team finished ninth of 23 teams last Saturday at the Johnny Paulk Invitational on Jekyll Island. On the Pine Lakes layout, the Wildcats matched the 314 they shot the week before in the Camden Classic at Osprey Cove.

Boys golfers tie for seventh at Camden Classic

A 314 overall score put the Wildcat boys golfers in a seventh-place tie among 15 varsity teams last Saturday in the annual Camden Classic at Osprey Cove.  A.J. Corsi fired Camden County’s best round, a 74. Also factoring in the hosts’ total were Griffin Blount’s 78, Gabe Williams’ 79 and R.J.

Diamond ’Cats win twice

Two recent road games produced a split for Camden County baseball, which also battered West Nassau for its fourth win of the season. This week, the Wildcats had a scheduled Tuesday game at Wayne, and a two-game set Friday and Saturday against Grayson. They will host Savannah Christian Tuesday.

CCHS girls netters go to 5-1; boys stay unbeaten in 1-7A

Three victories boosted the Camden County girls netters to 5-1 overall on the season, and the boys stayed unbeaten (3-0) in Region 1-7A with wins over Colquitt and Richmond Hill. CCHS has home matches today with Ponte Vedra and Tuesday against Savannah Christian.
