Many positives ahead of Camden boys’ soccer opener

CCHS swimmers third, fourth in Savannah meet

The Wildcat boys swimmers placed third and the girls fourth, and Camden County High third in the combined standings in Savannah last Friday. Camden’s highest individual finishes at the Richmond Hill and Savannah Country Day Last Chance Meet came from the boys.

Rifle ’Cats cruise to victory at Southeast Bulloch

The Camden County rifle ’Cats stayed unbeaten last Friday, getting four individual scores of 289 or better to cruise at Southeast Bulloch, 1,165-1,045. Jordan DeJesus was near-perfect again, her 298 overall tally comprised of 100 prone, and 99s standing and kneeling.

Girls win, boys fall in CCHS tennis openers

The Camden County High tennis teams opened Tuesday with a pair of 4-1 finals, the girls upending Glynn Academy and the boys falling to the Red Terrors in Kingsland. The Wildcat girls wrapped all of their wins in straight sets, and swept the doubles.

One day after eclipsing the century mark, the Camden County boys dribblers dug deep for a low-scoring Region 1-7A comeback win last Saturday. Another win Tuesday at region rival Richmond Hill was the Wildcats’ 11th in 12 games and fourth straight to open the league schedule.

Rifle ’Cats post 1,174 mark, roar to two wins

Just two matches into the season, the Camden County rifle ’Cats are making a very loud statement to their area and state rivals. A lopsided 1,174-1,006 triumph Tuesday at Brunswick moved CCHS to 2-0. The eye-popping winning score turned heads, as did Jordan DeJesus’ 300 individual tally.

Relay teams reach state swim meet

Three Camden County High relay teams qualified for the state swim meet with their times last Saturday at the 19th Coffee Winter Invitational.  Jillian Cash, Liberty Boyer and Mikayla Lokuta teamed with Marin Bograd for third in the 200 free (1:52.

Lowndes, Richmond Hill trip CCHS girls

A home loss to Lowndes last weekend and a defeat at Richmond Hill Tuesday kept the Camden County High girls dribblers hunting their first Region 1-7A triumph. The results sent Camden to 6-13 overall and 0-4 in region play ahead of another league game Friday at Valdosta.
