Wrestlers qualify 14 for sectional traditional tourney

All 14 Camden County wrestlers qualified for sectionals with top-four placements last Saturday in the Region 1-7A traditional tournament at Lowndes. With 12 individual champions, the Wildcats rolled up 296 team points and easily extended their region traditional supremacy.

Piedmont is next stop for Camden swimmer Cash

Just a few days removed from the state meet in Atlanta, Camden County High swimmer Jillian Cash on Wednesday signed a letter of intent to continue competing at Piedmont University.

Win, two draws as Wildcat soccer kicks off

The Camden County High boys and girls soccer ’Cats both reached deadlocks with Ware in the season openers Feb. 1. The girls held on last Friday to take the home opener over Pierce. This week, CCHS had scheduled Region 1-7A matches with Richmond Hill Tuesday. The boys will host Benedictine Feb. 14.

CCHS hoopsters eye region tourneys after weekend defeats

The Wildcat boys will be the third seeds and the girls the fifth seeds for the Region 1-7A basketball tournaments tipping off Monday. Trips last Friday and Saturday to Lowndes and Brunswick were empty ones for both teams in their final tuneups for the region shootouts.

First meet for CCHS Gymcats is Friday in McDonough

A deep lineup and an accomplished senior class have the Camden County High gymnasts eyeing high marks and state glory this spring. The Gymcats have six meets on the regular-season schedule, the opener a nine-school competition Friday in McDonough, just south of Atlanta.

Swim ’Cats dive in at state GHSA meet

The Camden County High swim program took four relay quartets to the state Class 7A meet last week in Atlanta, and Clayton Simmer and Javier McClenic swam in individual events. Simmer, McClenic, William Sopp and Noah Corning finished 22nd in the 400 free relay (3:35.

Wrestlers command top two places at Hamilton tourney

Dipping their toes in traditional competition, the Camden County High wrestlers placed first and second in the team standings last Saturday in the Port City Nigel Hamilton Memorial at Brunswick High.  The Wildcat A team won the 14-team pinfest with 266 points, 67 ahead of the B side.

Boys top Richmond Hill to join 1-7A lead, lose twice

The Camden County boys cagers netted an important Region 1-7A home triumph Tuesday and halted a three-game losing string. Following weekend losses to Brunswick and Colquitt, the latter a region defeat, CCHS got 23 points from Earl Murray and 16 from DeNigel Cooper Tuesday to beat Richmond Hill.
