New DNA evidence in a double murder case from 1985 prompted a Superior Court judge to order a new trial for Dennis Perry, the man convicted of killing Harold and Thelma Swain at Rising Daughter Church. Perry, 58, is serving two life sentences.

A Brunswick woman was killed earlier this month in St. Marys when a speeding vehicle crashed into her car on St. Marys Road. Michelle Alyssa Volpe, 26, and her dog were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Georgia State Patrol report.

Driver charged in 911 dispatcher's death

A Florida man is facing a felony charge and several misdemeanors for a car accident in April that killed a Camden County 911 dispatcher on Interstate 95. Rachel Hodge, 26, died instantly when her car plowed into the back of a tractor trailer at 97 mph on her way home from work that morning.
