The National Park Service was given $8.7 million by Congress to buy the Nature Conservancy’s 173.7 acres of land on Cumberland Island. This item was requested by U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga., and U.S. Rep. Buddy Carter, R-Ga., as part of the 2023 Omnibus Appropriations Act from December.

A 31-year-old man from Washington State has been charged with murder, according to the Camden County Sheriff’s Office online jail log.
Shane Douglas White, 31, of Bremerton, Wash., was booked at 9:54 p.m. Thursday, March 2, and charged with murder and aggravated assault.

Charges dropped vs. jailhouse beating victim

The Brunswick Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office has dropped charges against a 41-year-old Greensboro, N.C., man who was allegedly beaten in the Camden County Jail.
According to a warrant dismissal, charges were dropped against Jarrett Jarrod Hobbs.

City of St. Marys eyes $60K in aquatic center repairs
