Kovach

 Mr. Matthew L. Kovach, 101, passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, at Bayview Nursing and Rehab Community in Nahunta. He was born in Painesdale, Michigan, to the late Paul and Mary Senich Kovach but raised in Canton, Illionois.

Thompson

Tommy Broward Thompson, 67, of Waverly passed away Tuesday evening, Feb. 4, 2020, at his residence after a brief illness. Born in Waverly, his parents are Marguerite Keene Crum.

Hamilton

On Feb. 3, 2020, Cornelia “Neill” Buie Hamilton passed away peacefully at Hospice of the Golden Isles after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. Neill was born on Nov. 11, 1933, in Folkston to the late Archibald Alexander Buie and the late Sarah Davis Buie of Burnt Fort.

Williams

Latoya Lynette Williams, 29, of St. Marys died Tuesday morning, Jan. 21, 2020, at Baptist Medical Center North in Jacksonville, Florida. Ms. Williams was born in Fernandina Beach, Florida, to Norman Carter and the late Cherry Williams and made Camden County her home for most of her life.

Merck

Mrs. Joan Dawn Merck passed away in the late evening hours of Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020, at her home in Kingsland surrounded by her devoted family. She was 88 years old.  Mrs. Merck was born on June 19, 1931, in Folkston to the late William and Natalie Patterson Colson.

Donald (Don) H. Rice passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2020 Don was retired from the United States Army Special Forces.

Musgrove

Ms. Carol Ruth Carter Musgrove, 81, passed away quietly on the afternoon of Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, at her residence in Kingsland. Ms. Musgrove was born in Eugene, Oregon, on March 18, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Cleo Vernon “CV” and Olive Ruth Fain Carter. Ms.

Russell

James “Jim” Boog Floyd Russell Sr. died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020. He was born in 1923 to Henry Clement and Mary Atkinson Russell of Incachee in northern Camden County. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his siblings: Harry C.

Harvey

Peter Carl Harvey Jr., 66, of White Springs, Florida, entered the arms of Jesus on Dec. 23, 2019, at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida, after an extended illness. He was a Vietnam era veteran and a proud Marine. He loved his family and friends.

Daniels

David Perry Daniels, 73, of Waverly passed away Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, at Southeast Georgia Health System. Born in Waverly, his parents were Perry Daniels and Ila Wardine Wilson Daniels.
