Bid awarded for new Simmons Road park project

The controversial Simmons Road park in Fernandina Beach moved another step toward completion on June 16 when the City Commission accepted a $320,872 bid from Cole Builders to build the park.

Oasis pitches its marina management proposal

Earlier this year, the city of Fernandina Beach received five proposals from companies that want to lease or manage the Fernandina Harbor Marina. Oasis, the firm whose offer was rated best by another private firm, gave a presentation about its proposal to the city’s Marina Advisory Board last week.

Osprey Village stays vigilant against virus

Osprey Village, an independent living facility on Amelia Island, can boast of an increasingly rare accomplishment: As of Wednesday, June 24, none of its staff or residents had tested positive for the coronavirus.

Second annual Paddle for Veterans

The second annual Cross the Line Paddle for Veterans was held Saturday from St. Marys to Ferandina Beach. The nine-mile event was held to raise awareness of veteran suicide. Proceeds benefitted K9s for Warriors. Amelia River Cruises transported the first 50 registered participants.
