The Camden County High volleyball squad launched the season with a split last Thursday, beating Islands in two sets and falling to host Effingham in three. The Lady Wildcats thwarted Islands, 25-14, 25-19 behind six kills from Grace Pratt, five from Blake Giesbrecht, and three by Gabby Langley.

Camden softball falls to Long, Glynn

Two games in, the Camden County High softball team still pursues its first win. The Lady Wildcats opened the season with two home losses, 14-5 to Glynn Academy Aug. 5 and 6-0 to Long County Monday. Glynn’s early offensive explosion paved the way to victory.

The Camden County High cross-country runners leave the starting line Saturday, as a Hazlehurst race is the first of 10 on the regular-season schedule. “One of the reasons I started so early because the last few years, with all the weather and hurricanes,” longtime coach Jason Konrad said Monday.
