College baseball is next for three Wildcats

The Camden County High baseball program had plenty to celebrate April 30 as three Wildcats sealed their college commitments in a signing ceremony.  Elijah Cox will stay in state and play a couple hours away at Brewton-Parker College.

Distance runner Serrone finds fit with Montreat

Camden County High student Alex Serrone is taking his love of running to Montreat College, where he will compete for the Cavaliers. Serrone, who moved to Camden in December, competed in track and field and cross-country as a student-athlete in North Carolina.

Wildcats’ James qualifies for 6A golf tournament

Camden County High golfer R.J. James qualified for the Class 6A state tournament by carding a 72 Monday at the area tournament in Moultrie. Coach Carlton Smith said James “played an incredibly focused round. The most locked-in I’ve seen him during my time coaching.

Four reach 6A track and field sectionals

Camden County’s Marin Bograd won two events and Sean Green another, and David Coleman and Daniel McGuirt also qualified for sectionals through their placements April 22 and 24 in the Region 1-6A track and field meet at Valdosta High.  Athletes placing in the top four last week advanced.

PSA athletes win, break records at state track and field meet

Camden PSA athletes won 15 events and broke six records last weekend at the Georgia Recreation and Park Association Class B/C state track and field championships in Commerce. At East Jackson High, the Camden girls piled up 324 points, the most of 43 teams and 116 more than runner-up Fairburn.
