’Cats, Brunswick will clash in Aug. 15 opener

The 2025 Camden County High football schedule looks very similar to last year’s, with the exception of one first-time Florida opponent. In their second season under head coach Travis Roland, the Wildcats will host their first six games — starting with rival Brunswick in the Frank Smith Classic Aug.

Wildcats fall twice at home, once on the road

The Diamond Wildcats’ search for their fifth victory continued after three non-region defeats last week. Thomas County Central took two from Camden County in a home-and-home set, winning at home April 2 and in Kingsland last Friday. Peach County also defeated the host ’Cats last Friday.

Varsity Gymcats second, JV fourth at Lovett

The Camden County High varsity Gymcats placed fourth and the junior varsity team second last Thursday at Lovett in Atlanta. The varsity scored a 96.825 as a team, with the highest individual mark Alyssa Thompson’s 8.6 on the vault. She also earned an 8.55 for the floor exercise, a 7.

Camden wrestlers earn All-American honors

Four Camden County wrestlers earned All-American accolades at the 36th annual National High School Coaches Association High School Nationals last Friday through Sunday in Virginia Beach, Va. The majority of the Camden entrants were in the junior boys brackets.

Wildcat baseball falls in twinbill

With a Region 1-6A series still to play, the Diamond Wildcats stayed on the outside looking in for the state playoffs.  Camden County (4-17 overall, 0-12 region) lost a doubleheader last Friday at Richmond Hill, which closed a three-game sweep and vaulted to second place in the conference.
