Talent pipeline sparks optimism for CCHS spikers

Youth covers the lineup for Camden County High volleyball this season, and the prospects of a talent pipeline has head coach Kersti Kelly very optimistic about the Lady Wildcats’ future. This season will be the second for CCHS with varsity, junior varsity and freshman teams.

Bailey on board to coach ’Cat boys hoopsters

Camden County High School has welcomed David Bailey as its new boys basketball head coach. Bailey, the head boys coach the last four seasons at neighboring Charlton, was approved Tuesday by the Camden County Schools board. CCHS athletic director Welton Coffey noted Bailey’s youth and energy.

Stingrays set personal bests, notch GRPA state placings

High placements and personal-best times were the order of the weekend for the PSA Stingray swimmers at the Georgia Recreation and Park Association Class B state meet in Moultrie. “Our team had an incredible meet in Moultrie the past two days,” new Stingrays coach Lisa Ingram said Sunday.

Boomers’ Fayed, Rounds make waves at state

Elliott Fayed and William Rounds represented the Camden Boomer swimmers with strong performances last weekend in the state age-group long course championships and Junior Olympics at the Georgia Tech campus in Atlanta. Fayed, in the 11-12 boys division, placed second in the 200-meter breast (3:29.
