Jasper Wayne Blackburn, 61, passed away Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, after a short battle with COVID.  Wayne was born March 25, 1960, in Savannah. He graduated in 1977 from Memorial Day School and Valdosta State College in 2005 with a bachelor of science in education.

McElroy

Robert Patrick McElroy of Woodbine passed away on Monday, Aug. 23, 2021, at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick. He was born in Bartow, Florida, on Aug. 26, 1969, to Betty Joyce Conner Welchman of Woodbine and Robert F. McElroy Jr. of Middleburg, Florida.

Lane

Clint Joseph Lane, 58, of St. Marys passed away at Hospice of the Golden Isles on Aug. 23, 2021. Clint was born in Brunswick on April 7, 1963, to Osborne and Josephine Lane. He has lived most of his life in St. Marys and had worked at Gilman Paper Company as a machinist.

Linker

Leslie Calvin Linker, 96, of St. Marys passed away at his home on Aug. 10, 2021.  Leslie was born on Jan. 8, 1925 in Argyle to the late Wade and Ida Linker. He has resided in Camden County all of his life.

Fraticelli

Edna May Fraticelli, 62, of Jacksonville, Florida, lost her battle with COVID-19 on Aug. 12, 2021, at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Jacksonville, Florida. Edna May Taylor Fraticelli was born Oct. 9, 1958, to the late Pearlie Mae Taylor and Mack Taylor, Sr.

Smith

Joyce Robertson Smith, 89, passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2021, at Arbor Terrace of Athens. Joyce was born in Walden and grew up in Fort Valley. She graduated from Fort Valley High School in 1948 and was class valedictorian.

Pearce

Born in Ambler, Pennsylvania, on May 1, 1947, to Walter Bowden Pearce and Clara Elizabeth McIlroy Pearce, John Ellis Pearce was baptized and later confirmed at the Upper Dublin Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he remained a member until 1977.

Saturday

Danny Thomas Saturday, 68, passed away Friday evening, Aug. 20, 2021, at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta, with his wife, Olivia (Pearson) by his side. His nine-month courageous battle with pancreatic cancer truly showed his will to live and determination to beat this terrible disease.

Rodenbarger

Felicia Nichols Rodenbarger, 53 of  Waverly passed away Aug. 10, 2021. She is preceded in death by brother Christopher Adam Nichols.

King

Tommie LeRoy King, 74, of St. Marys passed away at his residence on Aug. 19, 2021.  Mr. King was born in Waycross to the late LeRoy and Dorothy King. Tommie moved to Camden County in 1965 and made St. Marys his home.
