Mr. Douglas Wayne Mercer, 81, of Filter Plant Drive, Elberton, husband of Ann Jean Wansley Mercer, passed away Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, at his home. Mr. Mercer was born April 23, 1940, in Elberton to George Alton Mercer and Ruth Aderhold Mercer.

McRoy

Pastor Violet P. McRoy, 66, of Knoxville, Tennessee (formerly of Kingsland), a mighty woman of God, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021. Pastor McRoy was born to the late Raleigh and Willie Mae Glover of Kingsland. She always provided support and love for her family as well as the community.

Miller

Mary “Jeanette” Byrd Miller, 68, of White Oak passed away Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at her daughter’s residence following an extended illness. Born in Waycross, her parents were C.R. Byrd and Barbara Thrift Byrd.

Lloyd

Jacqueline Marie (Jackie) Lloyd, 60, of St. Marys was called home to Heaven on the evening of Aug. 30, 2021.  Jackie was born on Sept. 29, 1960, in Bedford, Ohio, to the late Edward and Janet Minch DeFratis. Jackie spent her early years in and around Cleveland, Ohio.

Hamm

Gregory "Greg" Scott Hamm, 58, of St. Marys passed away at his residence on Sept. 16, 2021. Greg was born on Oct. 11, 1962, in Los Angeles, California, to Grady and Lyanne Hamm. He has lived in Fernandina Beach, Florida, and St. Marys for the past 20 years.

Daniel

Tony William Daniel entered the gates of Heaven on Aug. 4, 2021, and Alene Keene Daniel joined him at the gates of heaven on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021. Both lost their battle with COVID-19 at the Advent Health Hospital in Orlando, Florida. Tony was born on Aug.

Shad

Vila Cain Clark Shad of St. Marys, beloved wife of 65 years to Robert Lee Shad Sr., passed away at her home at 207 N. Julia Street in St. Marys on Sept. 10, 2021. She was born on March 2, 1934, at 6 Smith St. in Charleston, South Carolina.

Pullins

Shantel L. Pullins was born on Nov. 25, 1974, to the late Joselyn Washington and Richard Spells Jr. in Brunswick. Shantel was educated in the Camden County School System where she graduated with the class of 1994.

Nix

Allan “Shane” Nix, 58, of Kingsland left this earthly world to be with his Heavenly Father on Sept. 13, 2021, after passing unexpectedly.    He was born Nov. 5, 1962 in Valdosta. He relocated to Camden County in 1992 and worked for W.H. Construction for 29+ years.

Grooms

Billy Terrance “Terry” Grooms, 79, of Folkston, surrounded by his family, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on Sept. 7, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.
