Eugene "Gene" Wesley Carroll, 61, of Kingsland passed away at his residence on Nov. 10, 2021. Gene was born on Nov. 20, 1959, in Anniston, Alabama, to Jesse and Mary Carroll. He was a 1977 graduate of Arab High School in Arab, Alabama.

Bazemore

Carol Jean Bazemore, formerly of Woodbine and a longtime resident of Camden County, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, in Orlando, Florida. Carol was born in Tampa, Florida, to Gene and Marie (Williams) Quattlebaum on Nov. 17, 1947, and was the second of three children.

Atkinson

Ms. Harriett Knowles Atkinson peacefully passed away on Monday, Nov. 15, 2021, at the Senior Care Center in St. Marys. She was born July 30, 1927, in Orange, New Jersey, to the late Harry and Quinta Swartz. Ms. Atkinson is survived by her son, James Knowles, and his wife, Teresa, of St.

Carter

Keith Edward Carter, 51, of Kingsland passed away Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2021.     He was a great cook and enjoyed cooking. He loved family get-togethers and being with his many friends. He loved animals, his No. 1 was his dog “Hero,” who loved him so much.

Pheister

Paul Keith Pheister Jr., 70, of Fernandina Beach, Florida, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021 at his residence. Born on Feb. 16, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Paul Keith Pheister and Donna Jean Hamm.

Waye

Marilyn Marlene Waye, 80, of Kingsland passed away at Southeast Georgia Health System, Camden campus on Nov. 2, 2021. Marilyn was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on July 20, 1941, to the late Larue and Sarah Transue.

Saxon

Rev. Earl Thomas Saxon, 73, loving husband, father and grandfather went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, Nov. 8, 2021. Rev. Saxon was born in Savannah, grew up in Bulloch County and was a resident of Burke County since 1981. Before moving to Burke County, he pastored churches in St.

Mullis

Martha Elizabeth Deal Mullis, 75, of Kingsland passed away Monday, Nov. 8, following a lengthy illness.  She was born Oct. 8, 1946, in Hartford, Alabama, to the late Willie Shoffnor Deal and Johnnie May Doswell  Deal. She worked for many years at Walmart in Kingsland.

Kirkland

They say park rangers get paid in sunsets. Zachary Kirkland was paid a full amount of sunrises and sunsets with Cumberland Island and the family he loved. Zack passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, in St. Marys, surrounded by loved ones.   Zack was born in Bartow, Florida, in 1939.

Gushen

Edward J. Gushen Jr., our beloved husband, father and Pop passed on to his next chapter on Oct. 27, 2021, in Lake City, Florida. He was born in Bethesda, Maryland, on April 12, 1948. He was raised as a “Navy brat” traveling the world with his parents, often talking of his years spent in Taiwan.
