Betty Jo Furlow, 83, of Waverly passed away at Southeast Georgia Health System on Jan. 7, 2022.  Betty was born on March 29, 1938, in Tampa, Florida, to the late Ernest and Dorothy Gonzales. She was a homemaker and had many talents including cooking, sewing, ceramics and crafts.

Thompson

Juanita “Mz. Foxxy” Harris Arso Thompson departed this life at her daughter’s residence in Terrytown, Louisiana, on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021, at the age of 54. She was a native to New Orleans, Louisiana, and a resident of St. Marys. She attended O.

Shirley

Karen Glanz Shirley, beloved wife of Robert, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Dec. 29 after an 18-month struggle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on Sept. 2, 1943, to John and Emma Shutyak in Youngstown Ohio, and was a resident of Kingsland for the past 17 years.

Norton

Ms. Iris Wynona Norton, 88, passed away on the evening of Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, at her home in St. Marys. Ms. Norton was born on Dec. 28, 1933, in Kathleen to the late Mark and Mary Warren. In 1953, she met Roy Norton and then married in Kingsland in 1954. She was married for 66 years.

McCollough

Rev. Thomas Jackson (Jack) McCollough Jr., 94, a native of Woodbine, passed away Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, at his home at Wesley-Woods of Newnan.  He was born May 15, 1927, in Woodbine to the late Thomas Jackson McCollough Sr. and Hilda Wright McCollough.

Jones

On Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021, heaven gained one of the most precious angels. Constance “Connie” L. Jones, affectionally known to many as “Granny,” transitioned from this life to her eternal home in glory. She was born in St. Marys on Aug. 17, 1937, to the late Hiron and Reather Mae Floyd.
