Camden boys kick off soccer season

Jan. 31 scrimmage The Camden County High varsity boys soccer team started out the 2020 season on Friday night, Jan. 31, with a scrimmage against Glynn Academy at home. This annual pre-season scrimmage is always a good barometer for the potential for our team each season.

Wrestlers head to second state tournament

For at least the second consecutive year, Camden is taking its entire team to the Georgia High School Association state traditional tournament.   The individual state championships will be held at the Macon Coliseum with the first round starting Thursday, Feb.

Tennis teams take a swing a Colquitt

Colquitt dominated in another region match against Camden’s varsity tennis team last Friday. The boys were 1-4 in Colquitt’s favor. The girls went 0-5. At No. 1, Roman Merletti fell 0-6, 0-6 to Hayden Holloway. Matthew Miller at No. 2 went 2-16, 0-0 against Nathan Corley.

Rifle team heads to nationals

In only their second year competing in the precision marksmanship class, Camden High NJROTC qualified at the NJROTC National Shoulder to Shoulder Rifle Match in Chandler, Arizona, last week. Only the top 30 teams from the entire NJROTC program compete in this match.

Swimmers vie in Last Chance

Camden wins first region tennis match

  With the first region match canceled by rain, both the Camden County boys and girls varsity tennis teams won over visiting Lowndes on Saturday in the second scheduled region match of the season. The girls team went 4-1 and the boys 3-2 against Lowndes.

Ellis marks 400th win

  Veteran basketball coach Keith Ellis celebrated his 400th win with the Camden County Lady Wildcats last month. The team had just defeated Lowndes County, 60-47.

Miracle League getting back on its feet

The Miracle League of Camden County is looking forward to a brighter season this spring after having to end its fall season prematurely.  Registration starts today online at www.camdenmiracleleague.com. A training session is planned for 6-7 p.m. Friday, Feb.
