CCHS swim teams plow through Snowman Plunge

The Camden County High School boys and girls teams both defeated two visiting teams in the Camden Snowman Plunge, held on Dec. 4 at the Camden Community Recreation Center pool in Kingsland.

Turkey Trot 5K attracts almost 60 runners

Reiley English, a 16-year-old Camden County High School student from St. Marys, and Kendall Meek, a 27-year-old resident of St. Marys, were the top male and female finishers our of 57 participants in the Kingsland Catfish Festival’s Turkey Trot 5K on Saturday, Nov. 20.

CCHS cross country teams take second in region

Camden County High School’s boys and girls cross country teams both took second place at the Region 1AAAAAAA Meet on Thursday, Oct. 21 in Tifton and four Wildcats were named to the all-region team. The 3.1-mile race took place at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

Boomers earn points at Daytona meet

Camden County Boomers Swim Club competed in the USRP meet in Daytona, Florida, on Sept. 12, which was their first meet of the season. Mason Bellini was ranked first in 6-and-under boys scores with 27 points. During the meet, he took first place in the 25-yard freestyle (28.

CCHS dominates Oakleaf in homecoming game

It was a special football game Friday at Chris Gilman Stadium. It was the homecoming game, where former alumni of Camden County High School — former players, cheerleaders, band members, teachers, coaches and administrators — are welcomed back to celebrate and maybe relive some old times.

CCHS falls in second half to Blue Devils

The Wildcats held their own with the ninth-ranked Marietta Blue Devils Friday until the fourth quarter. But after a field goal by Adonis Coyle at the 6:41 mark of the third quarter on Camden's first drive of the second half, it was all Blue Devils. The final score was Marietta 40, Camden 17.

Kingsland rolls over Inlet Grove, 51-18

The Camden Wildcats didn’t really need a warning against their football foe last Friday. Camden dominated the first half and cruised to a 51-18 defeat of the Inlet Grove Hurricanes.

Coach Herron reacts to first football outing

With the first football outing under his belt, new head coach Jeff Herron reflected on his team’s debut on Friday. On Sunday afternoon, in between reviewing game films, he said, "For a first scrimmage we did some good things and some bad things as expected.
