Seay signs with Virginia school

Andrea Seay’s determination and resolve paid off in a big way May 11, as the Camden County High hoopster sealed her intention to play at Southwest Virginia Community College. “This is a great day,” said her Lady Wildcat coach, Keith Ellis.

Wrestlers Johnson, Yancey sign with Minot State

Camden County High wrestlers Cah’Mari Johnson and Anthony Yancey will stay teammates in college after the pair signed May 4 to continue competing at Minot State University in North Dakota. “I just think it’s a great situation,” CCHS head coach Jess Wilder said.

PSA track wins 16 events at state

Lapping the field and rewriting the record book, Camden County PSA athletes won 16 events and finished second in 16 last weekend at the Georgia Recreation and Park Association Class B/C track and field meet in Jefferson.

Former Camden County Wildcat Myjai Sanders will get his chance in the NFL after the Arizona Cardinals picked the edge rusher in the third round last weekend.

Young Wildcats kick off spring football workouts

The opening of Camden County High’s spring football practice last week brought more than 200 players, but many who have not seen the fire of Friday night. Only 20, according to head coach Jeff Herron, are seniors. “We’re a really young team,” he said after workouts last Thursday and Friday.

North Cobb tops CCHS in baseball playoff

Following a season-ending loss at North Cobb in the first round of the Class 7A state playoffs last week, the process turns to evaluation and improvement for the Camden County High baseball program.

’Cat boys fall to North Paulding in state tennis duel

Taking early control Tuesday, North Paulding dismissed Camden County from the state Class 7A boys tennis playoffs, 3-1 in Kingsland. Seeded third from Region 3, the Wolfpack won the opening set at all five positions and captured the first three completed matches to claim an insurmountable lead.

CCHS girls ace first state tennis playoff test

Four straight-set wins paved the way as the Camden County High girls advanced in the Class 7A state tennis playoffs last Thursday in Kingsland.
The CCHS soccer girls cruised and the boys won in overtime March 22 at Colquitt.

Road dates at Lowndes and Colquitt last week meant two crucial Region 1-7A wins for the Camden County High soccer boys, and the girls’ ninth overall triumph in Moultrie. The girls are 3-1 in region play and the boys 2-2 with two regular-season matches left for both teams, both against Tift.
