Wildcat wrestlers qualify for state traditional

Eleven Camden County High wrestlers qualified for the state Class 7A traditional tournament with top-six finishes at sectionals last weekend near Cartersville.
The number represents the most qualifiers of any 7A school competing this weekend at the state traditional in Macon.

After winning their first two preliminary matches by a combined 147-3, the Camden County High wrestlers showed no letup last Saturday in romping to their eighth straight state duals championship.

'Cats wrestlers eye state after region duals title

The state duals are next after the Camden County wrestlers pum- meled Tift and host Colquitt County last Saturday to capture the Region 1-7A championship.
The Blue Devils fell, 66-12, in a semifinal, and the Packers didn’t have much better success in a 53-12 finals wipeout.

Bobcats win regional wrestling title

The St. Marys Middle School Bobcats won the first-ever SEC Middle School Championships on Thursday, Dec. 2.
The competition was comprised of the four middle schools in Glynn County and the two middle schools in Camden.

Boomers travel to Daytona for Thankswimming competition

The Camden County Boomers swim team traveled to Daytona, Florida, over their holiday break last month to compete in Thankswimming 2021.
The boys team had enough points to end in ended in fifth place with 86 points out of a field of six teams.

The Camden County High School boys and girls teams both defeated two visiting teams in the Camden Snowman Plunge, held on Dec. 4 at the Camden Community Recreation Center pool in Kingsland.

Turkey Trot 5K attracts almost 60 runners

Reiley English, a 16-year-old Camden County High School student from St. Marys, and Kendall Meek, a 27-year-old resident of St. Marys, were the top male and female finishers our of 57 participants in the Kingsland Catfish Festival’s Turkey Trot 5K on Saturday, Nov. 20.

CCHS cross country teams take second in region

Camden County High School’s boys and girls cross country teams both took second place at the Region 1AAAAAAA Meet on Thursday, Oct. 21 in Tifton and four Wildcats were named to the all-region team.
The 3.1-mile race took place at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
