Head football coach Bob Sphire will end his four-year stint with Camden County High School this spring after announcing he had taken a new job with Highlands High School in Kentucky.  The coach said it would be an understatement to say he is returning to familiar territory.

CCHS rifle team heads into another season

After an amazing season with four seniors, the Camden High rifle team isn’t “rebuilding” this year. That’s not how their coach, Lt. Col. Stephen Banta sees it. “It’s never rebuild. It’s always just, next man up, and these kids have responded,” Banta said.

SMMS clinches region title; CMS takes fourth

The St. Marys Middle School tennis team rallied in the 19th annual regional tennis tournament to win the title after a final 3-2 match against Frederica Academy. In the final both, Frederica and St. Marys — coached by Grant Wise — were tied 2-2 in matches. Bryce Kriner of St. Marys was down 5-7.

Gracie Rassi | Tribune & Georgian With the defending Georgia state 7A champions coming to Chris Gilman Stadium Friday evening, Wildcat fans were hoping for a good game between two great football programs and they were not disappointed.  The Camden County Wildcats prevailed 24-21.

Camden battles Richmond Hill in home opener

Just being able to play seemed like a win for the Camden County Wildcats, which opened their season at home Friday against the Richmond Hill Wildcats.  But with uncertain times arising this year, it is only natural for there to be a negative to each positive.

Home opener set for Friday

The Camden County High School varsity football team will hold its home opener tomorrow night against Richmond Hill in the annual Frank Smith Classic.   The Wildcats-versus-Wildcats game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. at Chris Gilman Stadium in Kingsland.

Stingray swimmers travel to Savannah Sprints

The Camden County PSA Stingrays swam in 18 events at the 2020 Savannah Sprints swim meet on March 7. Girls In the 25 free, Josey Sopp (15.62) and Zoe Ose (15.73) came in third and fourth, respectively. In the 25 backstroke, Sopp (21.03) and Ose (22.50) placed first and third, respectively.
