Boys hoopsters split games at Lee tournament

The Camden County High boys dribblers closed 2023 by splitting two games last week at the Lee County Roundball Classic near Albany. The Wildcats (11-2) stretched their win streak to 11 by beating the host school Dec. 27, then fell to Florida opponent Lake Minneola the next day.

Camden sweeps Coffee in basketball doubleheader

The Camden County boys won their 10th straight game and the girls returned to the win column last Friday at Coffee. In the non-region doubleheader sweep, the girls built a 24-5 lead after one quarter en route to a 54-42 decision, and the boys put three in double figures to prevail 61-42.

More pins, more wins for ’Cat wrestlers

The Camden County wrestlers enjoyed an unbeaten weekend at the Johnny Rouse Duals near Orlando, Fla., the varsity A team hoisting the first-place trophy and the varsity B side routing six Florida opponents at Hagerty High School. Teams were put into one of three round-robin pools last Friday.

Tenth win, first loss make up girls’ weekend
