Camden boys, girls fall to Coffee in tennis openers

Visiting Coffee won the final girls and boys positions Tuesday for a pair of 3-2 wins in Camden County High’s tennis openers. In the boys’ meeting, the Trojans claimed the first two matches to finish, at No. 2 doubles and No. 2 singles.

The hunt for Jeff Herron’s successor is under way after the legendary Camden County High head football coach announced his retirement last Friday after 32 years leading programs in Georgia and South Carolina.

Lady ’Cats trip Colquitt, fall to Lowndes in 1-7A games

A big first-half run ignited the Lady Wildcats’ 17th win last Friday, but visiting Lowndes pinned the first Region 1-7A defeat on Camden County the next night. The Lady ’Cats (17-4 overall) have seen each of their region rivals once this season, and stand second (3-1) in 1-7A.

Medley team reaches state; CCHS swims to third

Alexia O’Neal, Lacey Turner, Mikayla Lokuta and Marin Bograd qualified for state in the 200 medley relay and the Camden County High boys and girls swimmers combined for third place last Saturday at the Richmond Hill Winter Meet.
