Gordon Stewart Steadman, 81, of St. Marys passed away peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2020, at Community Hospice and Palliative Care in Fernandina Beach, Florida, due to an inoperable brain tumor diagnosed in January. Celebration of his life will be at St.

Walker

Willie Winnifred “Freddie” Walker Jr., 70, of St. Marys died Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at Southeast Georgia Health Systems of Brunswick. Born July 26, 1949 in Screven, Georgia, Willie Winnifred Walker Junior (Freddie) grew up in Pierce County until the age of 13 when he relocated to St. Marys.

Owens

Berma J. Owens Sr., 68, of Woodbine passed away on March 3, 2020, at Southeast Georgia Health System, Brunswick Campus following a lengthy illness. He was born on Dec. 5, 1951, in Fernandina Beach, Florida, to the late Trennial Owens Sr. and Ethel Scott-Owens.

Lewis

Donna Addy Lewis, 61, of St. Marys passed away Feb. 26, 2020, at Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Mrs. Lewis was born in Columbia, South Carolina, on Feb. 13, 1959, to Bill and Audrey Taylor Addy. She had lived all of her life in St. Marys and was of the Baptist faith.

Blake

Earlene Annette Blake was born on Sept. 27, 1944, to the late Freddie and Annie Lou Blake in Folkston. She attended Harris Memorial and Ralph J. Brunch High School in Camden County in which she received her high school diploma and was honored as salutatorian of the class of 1962.

Butler

Jimmie Lee Butler was born on April 8, 1935, to the late Onie Butler Sr. and Phyllis Rudolph-Butler in White Oak. He was educated in the Tarboro Elementary School and was a lifelong member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Tarboro.

Lovell

Carl James Lovell Sr., 91, of St. Marys died Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Senior Care Center in St. Marys after an extended illness. Mr. Lovell was born in St. Marys to the late Grover Camden Lovell and Gertrude Ryals Lovell and had made St. Marys his home for all of his life.

Funderburk

Joseph Leon Funderburk, 78, of Kingsland died Wednesday, Feb. 26, at Southeast Georgia Health System of Camden after a brief illness. Mr. Funderburk was born in Mayo, Florida, to the late Thomas Fletcher and Beatrice Morgan Funderburk and had made Kingsland his home for many years.

Frost

Mrs. Mertice Lorraine Frost, 76, of St. Marys passed away on the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, in Jacksonville, Florida, surrounded by her beloved family.  Mrs. Frost was born on March 16, 1943, in Folkston to the late James Wade and Mertice Petty.

Bray

Darlene Ann Brand Bray, 73, of Kingsland died Thursday evening, Feb. 20, 2020, at Southeast Georgia Health Systems of Camden after an extended illness.  Mrs. Bray was born in Schenectady, New York, to the late Jerome and Rosa Soetig Brand and had made Kingsland her home since 2005.
