Local acoustic duo Hupp and Ray were playing at The Boat House, which is located across from Fernandina Beach City Hall, when a noise complaint caused owner Chet Huntley to receive a ticket for violations of the city’s noise ordinance.
Fernandina Beach’s Historic District Council approved demolition plans for these buildings, contingent on Bubbles Enterprises submitting an application for a permit to build a restaurant in their place. Bubbles Enterprises said it has not yet applied for that permit.

On a sunny, dry day, there is water seeping out of the pavement on Spanish Way in the Isle de Mai subdivision. The city of Fernandina Beach filed a lawsuit against CPH Engineering, claiming the company built the road too low, causing water to damage the street. CPH offered the city $80,000 in cash and in-kind services to settle the matter, which the City Commission rejected.
