MILLER-CHAPMAN – Mrs. Carrie Laverne Miller-Chapman, 78, of Kingsland, Ga., passed away on the evening of Friday, June 24, 2022, at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, Ga. Mrs. Carrie was born Aug. 2, 1943, in Atlanta, Ga., to the late Robert and Edith Harrison.

SMITH – Mr. Houston Lee Smith, 56, of Kingsland, Ga., passed away on the afternoon of Monday, June 20, 2022 in Jacksonville, Fla. Mr. Smith was born Dec. 13, 1965, in St. Marys, Ga. to Joann Smith McCollum and the late John Edward Smith Sr.

Henry Earl Williams

WILLIAMS – Henry Earl Williams Jr., born July 1, 1943, passed away peacefully at home June 8, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Allison, and her husband, Sean Dobson; son, Hank, and his wife, Joy; and son, Robert.

BUTLER – James Robert “Bob” Butler, 79, of Kingsland, passed away Thursday at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick. Services to celebrate Bob's life will be noon Monday, June 20, 2022, at Allison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Greg Gardell officiating.

SAPP – John Harvey Sapp III of Nahunta passed away June 8, 2022. He was born to John Harvey and Frances Helen Goolsby on Feb. 8, 1969. He died early June 8, 2022, after an extended illness.

BATTS – Deloris Mainor Batts, 79, of Kingsland, Ga., transitioned from labor to reward with her husband by her side Sunday, June 5, 2022. Deloris Mainor Batts’ journey began Nov. 11, 1942, in the southern part of Camden County, Rough and Ready Community.

Bevelyn Kay Budenski

BUDENSKI – Bevelyn Kay Budenski, 78, of St. Marys, Ga., gently passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022, at the Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta under the care of hospice. She was surrounded by loved ones as she entered the Lord’s house. Bevelyn was born March 9, 1944, in Logan, W.V.

William Harry Burger

BURGER – U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. William Harry Burger (ret.), 88, died June 5, 2022, in St. Marys, Ga. The East Freedom, Pa., native was a longtime resident of Savannah, Ga. He was a retired lieutenant colonel with the U.S. Air Force, and was a pilot and navigator.

DiAnne G. Gagliardi

GAGLIARDI – DiAnne G. Gagliardi of St. Marys, Ga., died unexpectedly at the Southeast Georgia Health System hospital May 25, 2022. She had been a Camden County resident for 18 years. Upon high school graduation in New York state, she attended beautician school in Rochester, N.Y.

GIBBS – Rayford Gibbs, 69, of Kingsland, Georgia, passed away in the early morning of June 8, 2022, while at home with his family. Rayford departed his earthly life for his heavenly home. Rayford Anthony Gibbs was born Nov. 11, 1952, in Kingsland, Ga., to the late Amos Lee Sr.
