Betty Maebelle Thomas Hart, 85, of Jesup died May 15, 2021.  She was born and raised in St. Marys. She lived in many states before settling in Jesup for several years. She then moved to St. Simons Island. She was a member of St.

Ellison

Freddie Mae Ellison, 85, of Woodbine transitioned to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. Sister Freddie Mae Williams Ellison, affectionally known to many as “Granny,” was born in White Oak on Nov. 27, 1935, to the late Osborne and Nora Lee Williams.

Curtis

Barry Curtis, 66, went home to glory Thursday, May 13, 2021. He was home at his passing with his family. Barry was born Nov. 9, 1954, to Marsha and Brian Curtis. He went to many schools and lived many places, The Great Lakes being his favorite.

Wimberly

Kenneth “Ray” Wimberly, 31, of St. Marys, passed away May 11, 2021. Ray was born Nov. 27, 1989, in Lakeland, Florida, to Joseph Larry Wimberly and Helen McAnally Wimberly. He had lived in St. Marys for the past 26 years.

Hernandez

Matthew Damien Hernandez, 18, of Woodbine passed away unexpectedly at his residence on May 14, 2021. He had lived in Camden all of his life. He was a big history buff and especially loved anything dealing with World War II.

Dyal

Mrs. Willie Mae Horne Dyal, 85, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at her home in Kingsland surrounded by her loving husband and family. Mrs. Dyal was born on Sept. 22, 1935, in Folkston to the late Randolph and Beulah Horne.

Hawkins

Aurelia Laverne Goolsby Hawkins, age 87 of Kingsland, passed away the morning of Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick. Aurelia was born Sept. 20, 1933 in Hazelhurst, Georgia, to the late Edgar Isaac Goolsby and Lula Mae Vaughn Goolsby.

James

Miss Latoya Denise James was born April 5, 1984, in Brunswick to the proud parents of Betty Jean James and the late Mr. Carlos James Sr.  Latoya, affectionately known as Toya, attended the Camden County schools and graduated in the class of 2004 from Camden County High School.

Spead

Efferen Eugene Spead, 60, of Kingsland passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021, at Southeast Georgia Health System, Camden Campus. Efferen Eugene Spead was born into the world on Jan. 11, 1961, to the late Mr. Commie Lee Spead Sr. and the late Mrs. Naomi Glover Spead.

McCollough

Mr. Dennis Dale “Big Mac” McCollough, 67, of Kingsland passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 5, 2021.  Mr. McCollough was born on March 17, 1954, in Folkston to the late Richard and Lucille McCollough.  Big Mac was a lifelong resident of Camden County.
