Ida Lois Hurst Martin, 87, of Waverly entered peacefully into Heaven’s gates Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Southeast Georgia Health System with her family by her side. Lois, the daughter of the late Archie Sterling Hurst and the late Ida Ruth Popham Hurst, was born in Waycross.

Mack

Dollie Grace Mack was born to the late Jannie Kinnett and the late Oliver Nightingale Sr. in St. Marys on Jan. 4, 1952. She was raised by Jannie Kinnett and her stepfather, Eddie Kinnett.  She received a formal education from the Camden County School System and graduated from Ralph J.

Jones

Cora Faye Moore Jones, 80, of Woodbine passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick. Services to celebrate her life, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Harrietts Bluff First Baptist Church, with Rev. Vernon Dillingham officiating.

Jones

Artie Jones Sr. of St. Marys, affectionately known as “Jack-Dog,” peacefully passed away in his home on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at the age of 92.  Artie was born on April 10, 1929, to the late Abraham and Martha Jones in St. Marys.

Carranza

Laura Claire Griggs Carranza, 31, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021, at Effingham Hospital. The San Diego, California, native had lived in California, Hawaii, Italy and Georgia. She loved traveling through the north Georgia mountains.

Brown

Laura Susan (Washer) Brown, 47, loving daughter and mother, died unexpectedly July 8, 2021. Laura was born in Kansas City, Missouri, prematurely two minutes after her identical twin, Anne Frances (Washer) Ogden, who died here last January.

Walker

Previs Lydell Walker Jr., 28, of St. Marys passed away at the Orange Park Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida, on Friday, July 9, 2021. Previs was born on June 19, 1993, to Previs Walker Sr. and Cicely Geter in Fernandina Beach, Florida.

Scott

Sidney Steven Scott, 72, of Woodbine passed away at his residence on July 10, 2021. Sidney was born on Jan. 28, 1949, to the late Donald and Sara Scott. He served for 20 years in the military, where he was a medic for the United States Army. He held two degrees in bachelors of science and arts.

O'Shields

Betty Jean O’Shields, 88, of Sun City, Arizona, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 11, 2021. She was born March 14, 1933, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Betty was a graduate of Spartanburg High School. Betty loved music and loved singing in her church choir as well as playing the piano.

Lewis

Raymond "Ray" Joseph Lewis, 69, of Kingsland passed away at his residence July 11, 2021. Services to celebrate Ray's life will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 15, at Allison Memorial Chapel with Mike Plezia officiating.
