Clay-Mincey

Mother Pearl Louise Clay-Mincey, 84, of Kingsland passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021, at UF Shands, downtown Jacksonville, Florida, following a brief illness. She was born on May 9, 1936, to the late Charlie and Louise Clay in Lake Alfred, Florida. She was the fourth of six children.

Johnny Wilson Sr., 69, of Kingsland passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at Lawnwood Cemetery in Kingsland. There will be no wake/visitation. Masks are required and social distancing is still in effect.

Thelma C. Myers, of St. Marys went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021. Mother Thelma Campbell Myers was born in St. Marys on April 29, 1936, to the late Joe Nathan and Ruth Campbell. She was preceded in death by Howard L Myers (husband), Donna S. Myers (daughter), Essie N.

Barrett Taylor King, born in Decatur, Georgia, on July 1, 1947, died surrounded by the love of his family on Jan. 17, 2021. Barrett, a graduate of the University of Georgia, served in the U.S. Army infantry for over 30 years active duty and reserves retiring as a colonel.

Thrift

Mr. Larry G. Thrift Sr., 80, died Friday morning, Jan. 29, 2021, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born at home in Waycross to the late Brantley Eugene “B.E.” Thrift and Ruby Melton Thrift.  Larry graduated from Waycross High School in 1959 and he was the owner/operator of Larry G.

Holzendorf

Richard Lavon Holzendorf, 41, of Woodbine was called to his heavenly home on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021. Richard Lavon Holzendorf, better known as “Little Richard,” was born on Dec. 26, 1979, in Glynn County to Richard Holzendorf and the late Josephine Washington.

Haywood

Annie Lou Waye Haywood was born July 6, 1942, in Kingsland to the late Mr. Leon and Juanita Waye. At an early age, Annie became a member of Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church.

Farinella

Deborah DeVries Farinella, 71, of Kingsland passed away at Baptist Health (Jacksonville, Florida) on Jan. 20, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Debbie was born June 4, 1949, in Passaic, New Jersey, to Kenneth and Helen Lang DeVries.

Waters

Dennis Foy Waters, 74, longtime resident of St. Marys, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 25, 2021. Dennis was the youngest son of the late Lemuel Foy and Beverly Thorpe Waters. He was preceded in death by his oldest brother, Lemuel Foy Waters Jr.

McCanney

Patrick Michael McCanney, 60, of St. Marys passed away Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, at his residence. Patrick was born May 7, 1960, in Delaware, Pennsylvania, to James and Theresa Fitzpatrick McCanney.
